Pricing Excellence Analyst
The role and its responsibilities
This is an important and multi-facing role with the potential to make a significant difference to the success of AkzoNobel's global business units (BU). As such, it involves wide-ranging activities as you act as a supportive and analytical thought partner for Pricing-, Product, and Sales leadership on all pricing-related issues.
This requires you to support and guide cross-functional teams in a spirit of co-creation in order to capture of pricing opportunities, and to prepare and co-lead Pricing- and Margin management working sessions and interactions with the BUs. In doing so you perform data collection, cleansing, validation and the analysis of pricing performance to gain comprehensive insights. Within this process you design and adapt Pricing Excellence (PE) tools, identifying and developing PE improvements and capabilities based on new insights.
Based on these analyses and insights you support the development of a long-term pricing strategy for complex products/services, aligning the approach and output format with Sales teams to ensure successful implementation.
Within this process you prepare management communication regarding Pricing Implementation (PI) status, and you work closely with PI managers and BU Marketing and Sales Excellence staff. You then work with PI managers to continuously report on Pricing- and Margin Management programs, ensuring the reporting line is fully informed.
At all times you share best practices in and across Pricing-, Marketing- and Sales Excellence functions and BUs.
To apply for this position you must possess all the following attributes:
- University degree in Finance, Marketing or Economics and at least 4 years of experience in a commercial environment:
- Excellent in MS-Office applications, ERP/BW and CRM;
- Strong research and synthesis skills (e.g., translate analysis and fact into implications and recommendations);
- Expert in the use of analytics, statistics and visualization, with SW a plus (e.g. Tableau, R, Alteryx, SAS);
- Able to travel when necessary (approx. 30% of your time);
- Strong communication, networking and interpersonal skills including fluent written and spoken English.
